Meet Paul Medina

Paul Medina, Founder & CEO Capital Energy Training

“I love what I do and cannot imagine doing anything else.”

Paul Medina has been running Capital Energy Training for 8 years and has been in the profession for 22 years. He has developed strength, mobility, flexibility programs for all ages from athletes to working professionals and everything else in between. He has studied Kinesiology atTowson U with multiple certifications from FMS, NASM, Neurokinetic Therapy and in the process of obtaining a certification from Brookbush Institute Human Movement Science. He has played High School baseball at DeMatha, collegially at Hagerstown CC and The Ohio State U where his career ended with an injury to his face. Now he's providing the right information for all populations to keep them healthy and injury free.

Paul recognizes that people are all built differently, and that a “one size fits all” approach won’t help them reach their training goals. He approaches each client as an individual with the goal of helping each person think about their own bodies as being unique with different strengths and weaknesses.

“My goal is to help clients see where and why they might be disconnected from their bodies in ways that can cause short and long term problems. I think about it as giving each client a better ‘sense of direction’ when it comes to their bodies.”

Paul’s methods are based on a wide variety of well-established principles, including cross fit methods, strength training, functional training, pilates, and even yoga. His approach greatly reduces a person’s risk of injury, which can be a huge impediment to lifelong fitness.

He opened Capital Energy Training this year, having been in the business for over 10, and his client list is already grown with satisfied clients who have are seeing their own results. In addition to being a certified trainer, Medina studied in Kinesiology and sports studies from Towson University. Washingtonian Magazine:

Achieving your fitness goals is challenging, but Paul and his team are here to help.  As quoted by Cathy Alter:

"...Then there was Paul Medina, who earned the name Baseball Paul after he told me he used to train collegiate baseball players. He had biceps the size of Florida grapefruits... After an hour of planks and pushups, giving him a piggyback ride to Ohio would have been preferable. Baseball Paul actually made me do chin-ups, and when my arms went limp he hugged my legs and lifted me up and down."
